Let me give you an example — I am (in the words of one of the seminar presenters), “a screaming high I”. I prefer social interaction — a party waiting to happen! A salesman presenting me with his product should show enthusiasm and a great deal of support for my ideas. However, if you try to sell a product to someone who is a high D in the same way that you sell to me, the sales presentation will probably fall flat.
